There is a a lot of publicity at the moment in the news about childhood obesity and the obesity epidemic which is sweeping the United Kingdom. As a mother of three I can see exactly where parents of today are going wrong, temptation is all around to just let our children sit around staring at some form of screen all day and all night.
Although it is very easy to let Sky plus TV be your babysitter whilst you get on with day to day chores it is not going to benefit your children in the long run. My children would very happily sit down and play on their game boys DS and xboxs all day long but it is down to you and I as parents to get them to be active. There are simple things to help your child keep active for example walking to school, going to the park and even choosing correct entertainment at your child's party.
This is what I like to call the new era for children's entertainment, gone are the days when children enjoyed sitting down watching a magician perform the same mundane "magic" tricks over and over again. I found a company which offer the perfect package to keep your children active at parties where sugar consumption is at its highest. This company, which is local to Bournemouth, offer a fantastic package which includes a bouncy castle and two entertainers who play games on and off of the bouncy castle. I have hired them for all of my children's birthdays and they have never failed to impress me with their boundless energy and enthusiasm for keeping our children running around and involved for the entirety of the party.
I found the experience very interesting because it gave me ideas of what games to play in our garden which are simple yet effective. For example they play a game where all the children have to do is run where they are told to run and if they are the slowest they are out, my children love this game. On the company's website they state that they play "High energy games", this is no exaggeration, it is great to see all of the children running around and having fun in the old fashion way. In the days before TV, Playstations and Xbox's, children like you and I used to run around and actually play games.
The other fantastic thing about this particular company is that they offer a babysitting service so when my husband and I have a social evening to attend, we are happy in the knowledge that our children are having fun and are safe, which is of the upper most importance. So in a way, although we are paying general babysitter rates, my children basically get a private birthday party to themselves which they absolutely adore.
Although I have only very briefly touched on how I keep my children active I hope I have inspired you parents out there and made you aware of refreshing new ideas.
